A coach tripper from Hinckley had her exciting tour of Iberia cut short as she was voted off E4 reality TV show Coach Trip.

Jodie Carnall and her team mate Jimmy were booted off the bus headed to Tenerife two and a half weeks into the contest.

The duo were the last of the original pairs to go.

The model, 25, saw the writing was on the wall for ‘Team JJ’ when the newbies began to alienate them at dinnertime, but Jodie said this won’t spoil her memories of Spain and Portugal.

She said: “Jimmy and I are so fortunate and feel so grateful to have shared this experience together.

“We talk everyday without fail and have seen each other numerous times since the show.

“We have had an amazing response on Twitter and other social media platforms.

“I have families message me such wonderful messages and they ask me if I can send them letters and videos to them and their children.”

The game show works with the seven teams travelling to destinations on the coach and completing activities, with a vote each day for which team should go home.

The team with the most votes gets a yellow card, and once a team has two they are sent home, to be replaced by a fresh pair.

Jodie said her favourite activity of the second week was when the tourists tried their hands at wakeboarding.

She said: “I was really nervous because I have a fear of being underwater but was so relieved when I discovered it was a man-made large pool we were doing it in.

“There was lots of frogs in the pool but I didn’t mind this, although I am sure one of them tried to swim up my bikini bottoms.”

Other tough challenges Jodie and bearded Aussie Jimmy faced were a judo class, showjumping and sampling Galician food, while keeping on side with the others was a tricky task.

At one point they had to decide between voting for close friends Ben and Teleka or mother and daughter team Helen and Hannah, with the ladies ultimately getting the yellow card.

Jodie said: “We thought they would understand but Hannah threw her umbrella down and refused to hug us all.

“I discussed with Hannah how I felt about her reaction, and it turns out she was just upset with another contestant, who said that her mum didn’t get involved with anything because of her age.

“Helen was definitely getting involved with everything we did and was amazing.”

The demanding schedule of activities, votes and quick meals meant the teams had little time to appreciate the resorts.

Jodie said: “We only get off the coach to take part in activities before hopping back on and sleeping in a hotel.

“Everything was a fun, exciting, nervous blur.

“I cannot recall where I was at any point - I could have been in Burbage Common for all I knew.”

Jodie has stayed friends with many of the other original teams, with a reunion planned for February.

The reality TV star previously appeared on dating show Take Me Out and is applying to go on Big Brother.

Jodie also recently launched the second edition of a lingerie calendar in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity, available for £10.
