STRATFORD, CT (WFSB) - A family of four was displaced following a house fire in Stratford Saturday afternoon.
Officials say they received calls at 12:52 P.M. of a possible house fire on Freeman Avenue.
When they arrived, there was a heavy fire coming from the rear yard of the house involving 70% of the home. Several exposed propane tanks vented propane, which started small brush fires.
Due to the volume of the fire, all duty crews of Stratford had to be used. The fire was brought under control in about 45 minutes.
Milford, Bridgeport, Shelton, and Trumbull Fire Departments assisted on scene and provided town coverage.
The fire is currently under investigation.
