The 15th annual Kortney’s Challenge 2 Mile Fun Run/ Walk will be virtual this year.

“While the pandemic is stopping us from physically getting together this year, it won’t stop us from virtually striding to cure pediatric brain tumors during the 15th annual Kortney’s Challenge 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk,” said Kristen Gillette, founder/executive director of The Kortney Rose Foundation.

This year Kortney’s Challenge, usually held on the first Sunday of August, will be held the first weekend in August.

Kortney’s Challenge 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk will have a different look this year when participants complete the two miles on their own to comply with safe distancing practices during the coronavirus pandemic.

Participants from all over the world – including Poland, Germany, United Kingdom and Australia have signed up to be part of the challenge.

“No matter where you live, you can participate in memory of Kortney and other children who have succumbed to brain tumors,” said Gillette, “and in honor of those fighting and yet to be diagnosed. COVID-19 won’t stop kids from being diagnosed, treated for and dying from brain tumors, and #WeWontStop supporting lifesaving research to help them.”

Registration is $10 per person regardless of age. Participants can run or walk two miles, more or less. They can do it on a treadmill, around their neighborhood, in the park, wherever they are safe. Race must be completed between 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 31 and midnight Sunday, Aug. 2.

Participants are encouraged to set up an individual fundraising page or create a fundraising team and ask people to join you in fundraising.
