A 27-year-old man who was told he could have just three years to live has decided to marry the love of his live.

Terminally ill Andrew Brown was told he might not live to see his 30th birthday after doctors discovered that his tumour is inoperable after he started experiencing violent seizures.

But despite the devastating diagnosis, the dad-of-one is due to marry his partner of seven years, Meisha Davies, on February 9.

Andrew, from Tredegar, Blaenau Gwent, was diagnosed with stage three anaplastic oligodendroglioma in September last year after suffering several violent seizures.

Meisha, 22, said she met Andrew seven years ago, and the couple now have a five-year-old daughter.

She told Wales Online : “In September Andrew was fine. He was going to the gym twice a day, every day.

“Then one Thursday night at about 3.20am I heard a bang and I looked over the bed and saw Andrew having a really violent seizure.”

Andrew was taken to Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny where he remained for two days.

Doctors discovered Andrew had a brain tumour and he was sent to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, for further tests.

Meisha said: “He kept having seizures in that time so he was back and forth to Nevill Hall.”

After travelling to hospital in Cardiff with Meisha, his mother and sister to receive results from a biopsy, Andrew was diagnosed with stage three anaplastic oligodendroglioma.

Doctors said the tumour was inoperable, and have given Andrew between three and five years to live.

“I cannot describe it,” Meisha said. “We were in the car on the way home and we were both obviously upset, and I think I said ‘let’s do it, let’s get married’ and Andrew just said ‘yes’.

“He is very brave. All the way through he has been really good.”

Meisha’s cousin contacted Birmingham-based charity Gift of a Wedding, who help to provide free weddings for people with terminal illnesses.

Meisha said the charity had organised a free dress from One1 Bridal in Cardiff, make-up from Caerphilly-based Make Up by Georgia and hair styling from Baroque Boutique in Abergavenny.

Andrew and Meisha’s wedding will take place on February 9.

They are expecting 65 guests to attend and 90 for the reception.

“It’s lovely,” Meisha said. “We wouldn’t have been able to do any of this without that. It’s really very nice.”

Andrew said: “It’s all a bit mad at the moment with all the planning.

“I have had one or two jobs to do like get my suit and that sorted but it’s mostly Meisha sorting it.”
