MailOnline has contacted a representative for John Newman for comment.

John proposed to his Danish girlfriend Nana last July, just 12 months after he revealed that a tumour which had removed in 2012, had come back.

But the singing sensation has since been given the all-clear and has regular monthly check-ups.

John and Nana pair met when she served as a flight attendant on his plane journey from Copenhagen to Bornholm - and she has stayed by his side throughout his recovery.

A source told The Sun at the time: 'John and Nana are completely in love and it felt completely right to get engaged. He proposed and she has been showing off her engagement ring.'

The newspaper reported that the romantic pair have been inseparable since getting together, enjoying a trip to Japan and Nana joining John at performances in Europe.

'She gets on really well with his family,' said the source at the time, adding: 'Nana loves John for who he is and not because he’s a celebrity.

'She certainly has no interest in being famous and just wants to carry on working as normal.'

In 2016, the Ole singer shared the shocking news that doctors had found a second brain tumour - but he vowed to continue making music.

In a statement issued confirming that his growth had returned, he reassured fans that the prognosis was good, after doctors had found 'a few cancerous cells', four years after they found a benign tumour.

He said: 'Nothing will ever stop me from doing the job I love so much, nothing will ever stop me from making music. People shouldn't worry about me, the prognosis is good and there are so many people in far more serious situations.'

John was forced to undergo radiotherapy in 2016 after the tumour returned, however, he is unable to have it removed because the growth is currently too small to be operated on.

In April, John discussed his ongoing health battle with The Sun's Dan Wootton.

He said: 'I’ve got to go through radiotherapy or chemotherapy, just, I don’t know when... I struggle from a lot of anxiety.

'The rate of growth currently, they don’t believe there is cancerous cells in it.'
